Ralph Smith – Owner: Ralph’s Racing Engines I started building engines in 1972 while attending Metro Youth Education Center. The first engine I rebuilt was a 250 HP 327 which belonged to my brother, hate to say it but it didn’t last long. Since that time I have built over 480 engines ranging from 250 HP to over 1800 HP with Nitrous. From motorhomes to school busses, tow trucks to pick up trucks – street rods, circle track and drag racing. I’ve had a good amount of success with my racing program. I raced in Super Gas throughout the 90’s and was able to win the 1997 Division 5 Super Gas Championship. This is by far my greatest accomplishment. Currently, I drive one of the fastest normally aspirated ’57 Chevy’s on the circuit. I race in NHRA Top Sportsman class and Quick 16 events at Bandimere Speedway and other local tracks. I’ve built several championship winning combinations for other drivers. I stand behind every engine that I build. References available upon request. |
